Hi, I’m Rachel. Welcome to Keys and Voices! I’m so excited to help you reach your musical potential. A little about me…I have been playing the piano since age 7, and singing since before I could talk. I took many years of piano and voice lessons myself as a child and teen. I have a master’s degree in Music Learning and Teaching from ASU, and I have taught music to students as young as kindergarten all the way through high school. I most recently taught middle school choir in the Peoria Unified School District. I enjoy teaching now in a more personalized setting, which allows me to focus entirely on YOUR needs and goals. My music studio is located at my home in North Peoria. My cross streets are Lake Pleasant Parkway and Williams Rd.
No, at this time lessons are only offered in person at my home.
Generally speaking, keyboards in the $100-$500 are not sufficient for quality playing at home. The feel and functionality of a basic keyboard are vastly different than an acoustic or quality digital piano. Yes! I have daytime availability, and I am registered to receive payments through ClassWallet.
For piano lessons, I recommend the student be at least 6 years old and learning to read. For voice lessons, I recommend the student be at least 12 years old.
Piano Students: Please bring a new spiral/composition notebook and a 3-ring binder. If you have taken lessons before, please also bring your previous lesson books.
Voice Students: Please bring a new spiral/composition notebook, a 3-ring binder, and a water bottle.
I will notify you of any required lesson books and either send a link for you to purchase, or purchase them myself and add the cost to the next month's tuition.
